Biography
Dr Angela Yates is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Wahroonga. In 2006, she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and completed a Masters of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology in 2016 at the University of Sydney. Dr Yates completed specialist oncology training at Hornsby Kuring-gai Hospital, St George Hospital and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse before becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2014.
Prior to her current appointment, Dr Yates worked as a staff specialist at Gold Coast University Hospital where she had a general oncology practice with a focus on lung, head and neck, central nervous system (CNS), breast and haematological cancers. She was actively involved in supervision and teaching of trainees and medical students and has published in international journals.
Dr Yates is passionate about delivering quality, evidence-based care to patients in a caring and sensitive manner. She hold memberships with Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Group (ANZUP) and Australian Gastrointestinal Trials Group (AGITG). Her clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with special clinical interest in breast cancer, central nervous system (CNS) cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, head and neck cancer, lung cancer and stereotactic radiation therapy.
