Dr Clare Suttie has a holistic approach to patient care and believes in supporting her patients through their cancer from the beginning of their diagnosis through to post treatment.

Biography

Dr Suttie graduated from Medicine at the University of NSW in 2005 and completed her internship and residency at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, NSW. In 2008, she commenced training in radiation oncology at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, completing her training in 2012. She went on to undertake a fellowship in breast cancer at Royal North Shore Hospital where she was involved in the implementation of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) for the treatment of breast cancer. From 2014 she was a staff specialist at St George Hospital, in Sydney, subspecialising in breast, upper gastrointestinal, lower gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and neuroendocrine malignancies, until she commenced with Icon in 2018.

Dr Suttie has a strong interest in research and teaching and is involved in the teaching and assessment of medical students and junior doctors. She was the Director of Training at St George hospital, responsible for the training and professional development of radiation oncology trainees. She was a conjoint lecturer with the University of NSW and a regular presenter for the Basic Sciences and Oncology Course in NSW.

She is dedicated to providing excellence in holistic patient care and has a keen interest in cancer survivorship. She accepts referrals for all cancer types, with a special clinical interest in breast cancer, upper gastrointestinal malignancies, lower gastrointestinal malignancies, and palliative radiation therapy.
