Biography

Dr Joanne Castelli is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Maroochydore. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2010, graduating with research honours in the area of lung cancer. Dr Castelli completed specialist oncology training at major tertiary Queensland centres, gaining extensive experience in managing a broad range of cancer types.

In 2018 Dr Castelli became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). She subsequently worked as a consultant radiation oncologist at Mater Cancer Care Centre South Brisbane. Dr Castelli maintains a strong interest in education, research and clinical trials; recently completing a clinical research fellowship in the areas of intracranial stereotactic radiation therapy and stereotactic body radiation therapy.

Her clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in stereotactic radiation therapy, breast cancer, gynaecological cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer and CNS malignancies. Dr Castelli is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to obtain the best possible outcomes for her patients.
