Biography

Dr Michelle Grogan is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes and Icon Cancer Centre Auchenflower. Following the completion of her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Dr Grogan undertook specialist training in radiation oncology. In 1996, she obtained a fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR). Dr Grogan received post-fellowship training at the Breast Cancer Institute in Sydney and the Toronto Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Canada, where she gained invaluable experience in the management and treatment of breast, genitourinary and gynaecologic malignancies.

Since returning to Australia in 1999, Dr Grogan has been working as a radiation oncologist across both private and public facilities; including the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside in Brisbane.

She is a strong advocate for clinical research and supporting the education and training of the next generation of medical professionals. Her clinical experience covers a wide range of solid tumour malignancies, with a special clinical interest in prostate, genitourinary, breast, colorectal and gynaecological cancers. She is also experienced in the use of innovative new technologies such as intensity modulation radiation therapy (IMAT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), TomoTherapy®, stereotactic radiation therapy, and brachytherapy.
